For many of you, you spend most of your day at work and productivity is important for work and your goals. But when we lack off on our mental health, our productivity tends to lack off as well. If you’ve been feeling off, focus on improving your mental health productivity and add self-care practices to prioritize your mental well-being.
Here’s 5 tips we suggest you do before work to improve your mental health productivity
Stay Somewhere Quiet
The most important part of your day is the first few moments you wake up and get out of bed. Therefore, get 20-30 minutes of solitude in the morning to reflect on your passions and goals for the day. You can use this time for meditation, journaling, or anything that would bring you in a good mood to set you up for the rest of the day.
Pace Yourself
Working in a fast-paced environment doesn’t mean you need to always be in a rush. Take just 5 minutes to slow down and take that much needed breather. Close your eyes, go get yourself a cup of water, close your office door, or anything you can to just take a quick “me time.”
Be Involved
while you may feel spending 8+ hours at your job can be draining, getting involved in company events can give you an extra boost to your mental health productivity. You have the opportunity to socialize, make new friends, or even learn something new.
Be Active
making exercise a habit will help you concentrate, sleep, and feel overall in a better mood. 30 minutes for 5 days in a week is a good amount of time for exercise. If you don’t have time to go to the gym, try home workouts, daily walks, or sign up for a class!
Avoid Abusing Substances
alcohol and drugs can provide temporary relief, but in the long run it deteriorates your mental health and causes physical problems as well. Find relief in speaking with family or friends, but if you don’t have that, you can find that in professional counseling services.
Why is your mental health productivity important?
Your best work happens when you’re at your best. Take the time for yourself to recharge and energize yourself.
