Hina M

MHC - LP

Mental health therapist Hina brings compassion, professional expertise and a thoughtful presence to her counseling work. She holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College and is fluent in both English and Pashto. Hina supports adolescents and adults as they navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, identity struggles, and major life transitions.

As a first-generation South Asian American raised in New York City, Hina understands the unique pressures and challenges that come with balancing cultural identity, life expectations and personal growth. Her background allows her to connect meaningfully with clients from a wide range of experiences, offering support to those who may feel overlooked in traditional mental health spaces. Before becoming a therapist, she spent over a decade as an educator—an experience that deepened her understanding of the emotional and social struggles young adults often face.

In her clinical approach, Hina draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Existential Therapy. She values collaboration, viewing therapy as a shared journey where clients are met with empathy and respect. She believes that healing unfolds in its own time, often through small but meaningful steps forward.

Hina honors the strength it takes to seek therapy and strives to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered. Whether you’re working through emotional challenges, identity concerns, or life transitions, she offers a grounded, nonjudgmental environment for growth and self-discovery.
