Mia Treadwell is a psychotherapist and NY State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist who is Board Certified. She has provided psychotherapy services to children and adults for over 20 years in a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient and inpatient services. Mia incorporates a variety of different clinical approaches in her work, including: Psychotherapy, Cognitive therapy, and Dialectical Behavior therapy. She sees every patient as an individual with a unique set of wants and needs. She strives to work with patients to help them to define their goals so they can better achieve them. When requested, Mia also uses Creative Arts practices in her work for patients who are interested in exploring alternative means of expression. This can be especially helpful when clients are working to explore more painful issues, such a trauma. It can also be very beneficial in helping overcome “blocks” to creativity, to job exploration, and in relationships, as it enables patients to see difficulties from a fresh perspective.
