Katherine Johnson, LMSW, earned her Master of Social Work degree from SUNY Buffalo and continues her advanced clinical training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy.

Katherine offers in-person sessions at our Manhattan location working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, ADHD, low self-esteem, and challenges related to life transitions. She prioritizes building a strong therapeutic alliance and creating a safe, culturally responsive space where clients feel supported to share at their own pace.

Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psycho-dynamic principles. Katherine brings warmth, curiosity, and flexibility into her work, tailoring strategies to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

In addition to her clinical work, Katherine has spent many years as a college instructor teaching English to non-native speakers. She has lived and worked internationally in Chile, China, Spain, and France, and brings a global, culturally informed perspective to her practice.
