Shanni earned her Master’s degree in clinical social work at Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work. She is fluent in Chinese, Mandarin and Cantonese. She has been practicing as a licensed psychotherapist for five years.
Shanni completed post-graduate training at The New York School for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. Her approach with clients is to provide a safe, supportive, understanding environment that facilitates exploration of their hopes, fears, dreams, and uncover obstacles that get in their way of having a fuller and richer life. Shanni’s training is psychodynamic, which means helping clients understand their inner conflicts and how it affects the way they feel and act in the present. She also practices many CBT and other modalities of psychotherapy. Shanni has experience working with adolescents, teenagers, adults, and seniors.
