Ramiz Rafailov

Ramiz Rafailov is a licensed mental health counselor who received his Master’s degree from Yeshiva University. His background includes providing safe and supportive psychotherapy to individuals experiencing depression and anxiety related to personal identity, loss, academic issues, and relationship difficulties. Using an integrative approach including psychodynamic, CBT, and relational psychotherapy, Ramiz uses the therapeutic relationship as the medium for change.

As an LGBTQ+ identifying and affirming therapist, Ramiz works with LGBTQ+ individuals on issues relating to identity, coming out, self-esteem, spirituality, sex, social pressures, and relationships. Ramiz’s main focus in the therapeutic setting is to help clients reach their full potential by coming to terms with and confronting the mental road blocks that drive their fears and worries.

Ramiz is currently a doctoral student pursuing a Psy.D. degree in School and Child Psychology. Prior to counseling work, Ramiz was an educator and Educational Camp Director for the local JCC in south Brooklyn at an overnight camp for Russian- speaking youth ages 10-15.
